5 Foods To Cook On Your Grill

Now that summer is here, it's time to fire up the grill and invite friends and family over. According to BBQ Revolt, seven out of 10 American adults have a grill at home. That means loads of barbecue celebrations with tons of food being passed around this summer. While the standard fare of ribs is delicious, there are other types of foods you can cook over an open flame or smoke as well. Check it out!

1. Fish

Fish is one of the healthiest things you can eat. You may have some people at your celebration who don't indulge in red meat or pork, but we'll make an exception for seafood. So why not give everybody their dose of Omega-3 fatty acids and get a whole Red Snapper for the party?

2. Burgers

Who says you must go to a local burger joint for a flame-broiled burger? As long as you have a grill in your backyard, you can make your own Smokey burgers anytime, not just on the 4th of July or Labor Day. When you choose to grill burgers, you can please many palettes at your gathering. Get some ground chicken, turkey, lamb, and beef, and have burgers in all of those options. You can also have vegan burgers by getting some premade store-bought patties or attempting your own creation.

3. Steak

Why put steak in a frying pan when you can put it on the grill for better flavor and faster cooking? Whether you put steak over a charcoal, electric, or gas grill, you'll love the texture it produces. Grilling this cut of meat is a perfect way to sear the crust and keep the interior juicy.

4. Vegetables

You should eat as many vegetables as you can daily, so why not add them to your next BBQ celebration? Some healthy vegetable options to consider include eggplant, asparagus, sweet potatoes, bell peppers, corn, and zucchini. You can always cut some of them up and put them on a kebab for a more fun way to indulge in this healthy food.

5. Fruit

Most fruits have a range of vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C, A, and fiber. Plus, the sweetness of fruit can pair well with certain meats like steak or chicken. So why not slice up some peaches or pineapple and throw those on the BBQ too?
